FlyBy11, The Easy Windows 11 Upgrade

What Is Flyby11?

Flyby11 is a simple patcher developed by builtbybel that removes the annoying restrictions preventing Windows 11 (24H2) installation on unsupported hardware. The tool works by leveraging the Windows Server variant of the setup process, which skips most hardware compatibility checks. Even though the setup runs in server mode, it installs the regular Windows 11 version—nothing modified or fake.

How Does It Work?

The process is refreshingly straightforward. Flyby11 automates the entire workflow: it handles ISO downloads, mounts the image, and patches the setup files automatically. No registry hacks, no complicated command-line workarounds. Just run the tool, and you’ll be running Windows 11 on your outdated machine in no time.

Important Limitations

There’s one hard limit you should know about: the POPCNT instruction requirement cannot be bypassed. This CPU feature has been included in processors since around 2010, so most computers from the past decade should be fine. Flyby11 includes a compatibility checker to warn you if your hardware lacks this requirement.

Is It Worth It?

For many users, yes. Flyby11 extends the life of working computers, reduces e-waste, and saves money on unnecessary hardware upgrades. However, be aware that Microsoft doesn’t officially support this method—security updates aren’t guaranteed, and you’ll miss out on TPM-based protections.

If you’re technically inclined and want to keep your PC running longer, Flyby11 is worth checking out on GitHub.
