Best Free Video Editor

on

Kdenlive is a powerful free and open source cross-platform video editing program made by the KDE community. Feature rich and production ready.

I’m not a professional video editor therefore I’ve never used any of the paid editors like Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut Pro, but I have tried a lot of free ones.

I’ve used many of the Windows Movie Makers, all of them have been awful, including the editor inside of Microsoft Photos. I’ve used Lightworks a very professional editor for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Lightworks is no longer free. I tried OpenShot a free editor for Windows and I didn’t like it much. I’ve used these and many others. They were either to professional and I could not figure out how to use them without training, or they were to basic and would do what I needed.

Kdenlive is free and open source which I like. It is easy to use, and has all of the basics you need to get any small to medium projects done. There are versions for Windows Mac, and Linux.
