How To Spot Scam Email

We’ve all ran across this, an email that comes in that looks legitimate but something about it doesn’t feel right. What do you do with this kind of email? Do you open it to see what it is about. Did your uncle that you didn’t know you had really leave you a million dollars? Does the price of Nigeria really want you help him out and in return he’ll share his windfall? Here are a few ways to find out.

First the of all the IRS, Apple, Microsoft, and Bank of America never use Gmail. If you get am email from any legit company or organization they will be using their own domain email not Gmail, or Yahoo.

Watch for similar but misspelled domains like Micrasoft.com. They may use a different top-level domain like apple.eu.

If the from address looks legitimate check the reply to address if it is different it may be fake.
