Chromecast is a new, fun and inexpensive way for you to watch Internet-based programming on your television. It is a dongle that you plug into your TV’s HDMI port that can be controlled from any electronic device (computer, tablet or phone) running the Chromecast app. You browse to the video that you want to play on your device and press the Chromecast button and the program appears on your TV. It currently supports Netflix, Google Play and YouTube with many more in the works. Google has published its Chromecast API giving anyone with online media the ability to get a Chromecast button on their site. Did I mention that it is inexpensive. Chromecast cost only $35. At that price it is an impulse buy. You can purchase Chromecast from Google Play, Amazon and Best Buy. The supply has been very low. They maybe back-ordered for a while.
