To run a WordPress.org website you need, a web-server running Linux and the Apache Web server. Most hosting services offer Linux running Apache as a choice. It must have the PHP scripting language installed also the MySQL database. This configuration is called LAMP. LAMP stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP.
You can configure LAMP and install WordPress yourself but your host may do it for free. Go to your host’s “control panel” and go to “Applications”. Choose WordPress and click “Install”. You do not need to install LAMP it will automatically be installed because it is a prerequisite for WordPress. If these instructions are not correct for your host it will be close. If you have problems call your host’s tech support.
Once LAMP and WordPress are installed you can login and start creating your site.
