There are many alternatives to Microsoft Office. If you absolutely have to use the official Microsoft products you will pay a minimum of $70 per year.

If you have to get MS Office and you don’t have $70+ there are ways to get it free. You may some of these methods on YouTube, most seem hacky and scary. I’ve tried several of these methods but the instructions were iffy.

Microsoft Activation Script(MAS) is the best method I’ve found. It seems semi-legit. Microsoft must allow for tools to deploy MS Office in commercial, and educational environments. Get Started…

1 In your web-browser go to…

2. Choose the link Download Windows/Office

3. Under the heading Office click the link between Office C2R Installers (Retail) and (easy to install)

4. Click English – US (en-us) in the menu on the left.

5. Click the link next to the 64bit installer. The heart represents the recommended installer. You may actually download any of the 64bit links for any of the Office versions.

6. Run the installer as administrator.

7. When the installer is finished you may open one of the Office apps, maybe Word. It will nag for a product key. You may click “Skip for now,” then “Close.” You may click the “Account” link on the bottom left. There will be a yellow box that state “Activation Required.” close the account window.

8. Open PowerShell as Administrator. PowerShell is the other Windows command line shell, not CMD. Run the script below.

8. The Massgrave tool will start.

9. Under Activation Methods press [2] Ohook Ɩ Office .

9. Press [1] to start Ohook Office Activation.

Office is activated!

Now you can start Word or other Office applications with no nag screen. You can go to Account again to see that it is activated.

Bonus Tip

Massgrave will activate Windows new installs. I still haven’t found a way to upgrade an activated machine without going through Microsoft.
