My LastPass Replacement

You might have heard that LastPass is changing their free account to only allowing one device. The Premium account is only $3 per month but the change has given me an incentive to find a new password manager.

I looked at several LastPass, a few were mobile apps only and that was no good. Some had weird hooks into Google or Dropbox. I didn’t like that. Some did not have mobile apps at all.

Finally I was kind of hoping this time that I would find an opensource product. LastPass was not but it was vetted by someone I trust. That was years ago and a lot could have changed in that time.

Bitwarden

I believe I’ve found the perfect password manager and it is called Bitwarden. Bitwarden is a free and open-source password management service that stores sensitive information such as website credentials in an encrypted vault. The Bitwarden platform offers a variety of client applications including a web interface, desktop applications, browser extensions, mobile apps, and a CLI.

Oh! I almost forgot to mention Bitwarden is 100% free! There are payed tiers but I haven’t found a reason to pay yet.
