As the sixth tip says, “Don’t run as Administrator”. Any program you run while using an admin account has those same privilegdes this includes malware. UAC (user access control) has limited the danger some but it is far better for you to not have those privilegdes at all. Of course you will not be able to install program or even run Windows Updates.

These are the instruction to have an administrator password prompt any time you make system changes:

1. Open an administrator command prompt by tapping the Windows key then typing cmd,
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and selecting “Run as administrator.” You will get a UAC prompt click Yes.
3. Type the command: net user administrator /active:yes and hit enter,
4. Type net user administrator (enter the same password you use to login to your normal user account) and hit enter,
5. Close the command prompt and logout,
6. Select the Administrator account, enter the new password and hit enter,
7. Open the User Account Control Panel and select your account and change the Account Type to Standard,
8. Close the control panel and signout of the Administrator account.

Sign back into your account and try to use the Administrator command prompt again. This time you should be propted to enter a password.
