Apple has announced that they will no longer update QuickTime for Windows. QuickTime is a media player from Apple. You may not recall installing QuickTime but if you have installed iTunes you have it. Trend Micro has already found security flaws in QuickTime and Apple says they will not fix them. This being the case it is recommended that you uninstall it as soon as possible. If you need the CODECs  that come with QuickTime to play different media file you are advised to install VLC.
