A little more the twelve years ago I began my quest to learn computers and the Internet. It all started with a terrific show on TechTV (then ZDTV) called “Call For Help“. It was a show for those just beginning to use computers and the Internet. TechTV was sold and resold. Now called G4 it is only a shell of its former self with only shows about gaming. Fine if your into gaming. It’s a good thing we don’t need television anymore to learn technology. The Internet has all the information you need…

• Google it! – Of course you can always use Google to point your way to interesting stuff. I suggest possibly using the word tutorial (tutorials) in front of the subject. Like phtotoshop tutorials.
• YouTube – You can learn about any subject by doing a search on YouTube. Not just tech but any subject from aviation to Zen meditation. I prefer to learn from videos. Reading puts me to sleep. I’m currently learning to program for the web in part by YouTube.
• Butterscotch – Butterscotch has videos on technology, many for beginners. I personally like Lab Rats.
• Lynda.com – Unlike the previous links Lynda is not free, although very affordable. At Lynda you can learn subjects like 3D animation, audio, business, design, developement, home computing, photography, video and web + interactive. Here’s the great thing about Lynda once you pay for a subscription you can view videos on any subject and watch it as many time as you want. The bass price is $25 per month or $250 per year. I really think Lynda is a great resource.

There are many other repositories of great information out there, these are just a few. You just have to get on the Internet and find them.
