CrashPlan Ending Home Backup Service

CrashPlan is a service that does data backup back up to remote servers, other computers, or hard drives. It is available on Mac, Windows and Linux.

“Code 42” the company that gives us “CrashPlan” has decided to focus on there commercial product and end the Home version. “CrashPlan” has begun to sunset Home customer but they are giving customer plenty of time to find a new home for there data.  CrashPlan Home will no longer be available on October 23, 2018.

There are many online backup service and you’ll need one to replace CrashPlan. Her are just a few:

  • Backblaze – for Windows and Macs, $50 per year. You can backup all of your drives including portable drives,
  • Carbonite – for Windows and Macs, $59.99 per year, $74.99 if you would like yo backup external drives,
  • CloudBerry Exporer – Most affordable way to backup but it is not easily setup.
